Overall this time without smart technology has allowed for a break from the fast paceness (if that is a word) of life. Since many times it feels like we are going through the days within seconds, like we are fast paced cars speeding through life. Trying to fill our days with a materialistic lifestyle leaving us half full. It's odd though since I do understand sometimes we are being productive, but at the same time, work shouldn't encompass our lives. So then you need to consider what is taking up the rest of our time?

And then it clicks. OHHHH IT'S OUR PHONES AND COMPUTERS. (Also I'm not trying to just place technology in this reflection it really just is such a large part of many people's lives). But I've said this before it's so common to want to fill the gaps of awkwardness in our lives with our phones. I mean it's so strange to realize that when you're on the subway and you can see that the majority of people have their necks craned down looking at their phone, even though there are windows that shows the world outside. Yet it's just blatantly ignored.

Surprisingly I enjoyed my time without technology. Although it was a short duration of time I felt very free. It gave me time to reflect on my life and just think with barely any interruptions. Since I didn’t have the obligation of responding to people, or subconsciously pick up my phone. I just live my life and step away from everything else. Although you can’t fully escape technology since it’s a constantly apart of everyone's lives. So even if want to continue to not use technology and escape from it in a sense, you simply can't. Since it has been ingrained in life that unless specific actions are taken to step away from technology we will continued to be chained to it.
